Description: What is this item and/or what was it used for? The bottom of the jar is stamped with "5011" and a capital "A" with an arch-like symbol around it. Metal stand and lid appear are brass or brass-like; no markings. Jar is suspended in stand, allowing it to swing back and forth slightly. Lid has a gasket that seems to allow air to escape from the jar.
