Description: Can anyone help identify this please?
My grandma calls it a family heirloom but no-one knows what it is.

It's about a foot long.
It is surprisingly heavy like it is made of iron. It is covered in a woven pattern- possibly leather or rope. The ends are metal. There is a string tied to the middle of a similar age to the object.
