Description: Got it at a flea market. Seller didn't know what it was, either. It's about the size of a darning egg, but clearly not used for that. I thought about it for making twisted cord, but there would need to be a swivel at the top — which could have been lost — but even then, why would there be a hook at the center bottom?
I've done a variety of needlework and handwork over the years, but never encountered anything like this, so, if you know what it is, I hope you will tell me.
