Description: I am an antiques dealer and want to know more about this "teapot". No History given by seller.
This item is made of crudely carved black/gray stone and is heavy.
It is 8 1/2" long x 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" tall. The spout is bird effigy and the tea/beverage pours from beak. There are 2 gazelles carved on one side, and other side is blank. No maker marks can be found. The carved decorations are crudely done but symmetric and repeating. There are vissible and large carving marks.
I would like to know approx era/age, country of origin and anything else that might be helpful.
