I am trying to identify what they are; their purpose; age; etc. . . They have no markings of any kind. The "spool" or cylinder appears to be made out of wood, wrapped in tin. The spool is 6.5" long x 4.5" diameter. There is an approx. 1/2" wide wear mark around the spool near one end. The brackets appear to be welded steel and well made. The welds are very good. So good in fact that I thought the brackets were cast at first. The brackets appear to be pairs and have small roller wheels with ball bearings. One pair is is 9" tall the other pair in 7" tall. The shortest pair of brackets is 2.5" tall and this set of brackets appears to go with the drum or spool as they are the only set of brackets that the spool appears to fit into.
