Description: I have owned this item for almost 15 years, and cannot find anyone who can identify what it is. It appears to be a book, but when opened, it has some empty pages, then the rest of the "book is solid. There is a knurled wheel at the top, which when turned, turns the brass dial. A pin above the button at the bottom of the dial clicks from one hole to the next. There are 7 divisions in the dial, 4 the same size, two smaller.
