Description: This item seems to be repurposed into an ashtray, but it's made of solid brass and weighs almost 2kg. The stamp in the middle reads 'Jydske' meaning 'From Jutland' in danish. Can anyone help me figure out the history of this item?

The blue filt on the bottom is to prevent the item from scratching the table, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to remove it or not?

Could this be the bottom of some kind of shell or grenade from a war?
Keywords: Very heavy brass item.
