There are no markings or brand names anywhere visible. The base does not appear to be refurbished. The top leather part was added and stapled with a few screws in place. Under the leather is a light green cloth with stains that does not appear to be old. It is sturdy enough to sit on as I have been doing daily as a vanity stool.
