Description: Hello - what in the world is this thing? I thought it might be a chifferobe except that when you open the top doors there are drawers on the inside. I would have expected a big open area, not drawers. I thought it might be a china cabinet but I have never seen a china cabinet without glass doors. Its not a wardrobe since those usually have large doors and no external drawers. Its not a frankenstein piece since the top section with the doors matches the bottom section with the drawers when it comes to trim and wood species. It stand about 5 feet tall and the panels are veneered in mahogany while the legs, skirt and frame appear to be some other species but I cannot tell what. Any help is appreciated, thanks for looking!

P.S. The most convincing answer I have seen is that is is a chifforette - a mini chifferobe. However, I have found nothing else like this after searching the net for chifferobes and chifferettes for months.
